Snowboarding
Stratton, Vermont is literally the birthplace of snowboarding, so you can bet that the boarding on Stratton Mountain's slopes is out of this world. Jake Burton Carpenter built the first modern snowboard at Stratton, and since 1982, the resort has played host to the US Open of Snowboarding, the premiere competition and showcase for the sport. This rich history makes Stratton the perfect destination for avid snowboarders, and an equally perfect place to have your first boarding experience. The resort really takes care to be boarder-friendly, offering great runs and jumps for all levels.

Downhill Skiing
Stratton Mountain may be home to snowboarding, but the downhill skiing is great, too. Enjoy 14 lifts and a highspeed base-to-summit gondola to get you to the top fast so you can ski to the bottom and do it all again. There are 90 runs at Stratton, ensuring that whether you are an advanced skier or whether you are out on the slopes for the first time, there is the perfect run fr you. There are 583 skiable acres at Stratton. 42% of the terrain is beginner; 31% is intermediate; and 27% is advanced.

Cross-Country Skiing
Stratton, Vermont is a great place to try your hand at any winter sport, and cross-country skiing is no exception. Several touring centers offer groomed trails that give you breathtaking tours through quiet woods and open fields. For a special treat, visit Hidene, which offers 17 km of trails that wind through the beautiful estate of Robert Todd Lincoln, President Abraham Lincoln's son.
